Discerning Performance in a Complex Cloud Deployment
Today’s
cloud
based services are complex, 
immature,
not well standardized
and not commoditized. Architects are right to pause when
considering how they might take advantage of cloud-based computing.
Advantages are clear, but options are many and complexity increases.
New technical priorities will arise, and control over your environments
is far less than it was before. In order to succeed in today’s cloud
environment, you must be cognizant of the many parties that become part
of your architecture and discern the methods of performance management
that will work in your implementation. This talk will demonstrate the
systems architecture of CloudSleuth.net and further describe the
implications that follow in the application of various cloud services
to your enterprise.
About James
James holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Michigan, where he concentrated on the application of
analytic methods and geometric modeling in CAD systems. He has held
fast to technical positions in software for 16 years, avoiding the dark
side of management. Currently, James is a Technical Consultant at
Compuware Corporation, where he works for the CTO on research projects.
James managed and consulted in various product development,
architecture and startup positions prior to joining Compuware in 2008.
